The Stolen Goodbye isn't my usual genre, but I was intrigued by the intro. Just how can those elements work together? Wow! they do. After the first couple pages, I was hooked. I really feel I "know" the characters and the surroundings they are in at the moment. I have my favorite characters, but I will let you learn and have your own. I absolutely could not put it down once I started reading. I actually found myself worrying about the situations they were in and imagine how they were going to escape danger. I know it is a book of fiction, but the characters and their situations are so very real as I read.

Nothing

Nothing.

It’s a curious word.

I mean, as words go I suppose it’s pretty average.

But it’s the opposite of what it means.

By the word’s very existence - nothing - there is something.

It takes pixels to put the word on this page.

It requires you to form a thought.

Go ahead. Think about “nothing” for just a moment.

You can’t.

Our existence hasn’t prepared us for the contemplation of “nothing.” We can’t comprehend it.

The absence of everything.
